A closer look: More about this sleeping bag

Designed for maximum warmth, the trapezoidal boxwall construction maximises loft and insulation for optimal comfort, and to eliminate cold spots. Cut to have a board mummy shape and angled foot box; this bag has a low pack size and weight without compromising on warmth or comfort and still allows for movement. An ergonomically designed, close-fitting internal collar with a hood drawcord, as well as a 3/4 length YKK anti-snag zip with an insulating draft tube to keep out the cold. Comes with a dry bag compression stuff sack for transport and cotton sack with water-resistant base for storage.

Unique baffle filling for a better night's sleep

Hand Filled In Derbyshire. Rab hand fill all their down sleeping bags at their factory in Derbyshire, UK. This ensures that every baffle is filled as required and that the down within has never been compressed or stored in a way that could impair performance. The bags are filled using a smaller diameter pipe and a compressed air system, which blows the feathers into each chamber. Before the bags are filled, one empty shell from each batch is weighed to ensure they are within tolerance. Precision scales are then used to measure the down for each chamber and, once complete, the finished bag is weighed again. To avoid being rejected, the bag’s total weight must be less than 10% over and cannot go under the intended weight. Scales are accurate to 0.5g and are routinely re-calibrated using weights of 1000g, 100g, 10g and 1g.

Warm and protective, the Ascent Pro 800 is ideal for winter conditions. It has a generous wide fit, ensuring a comfortable night’s sleep for the weary mountain explorer. Filled with 800g of 650FP duck down, it is a very warm sleeping bag, with space to wear extra, bulkier layers inside if using in seriously cold temperatures.

With Pertex® Quantum Pro wind and water-resistant outer and hydrophobic duck down, it copes well with wind, condensation, and damp conditions, ideal for snow-holing or an exposed bivi ledge. Warm enough to deal with plummeting temperatures it’s a great all-round adventure, winter sleeping bag. Built with trapezoid-shaped, box wall baffles that stack neatly together, the down inside is encouraged to fully loft, maximizing insulation and reducing the appearance of cold spots. Hand-filled in the UK, all our own bags benefit from never having had their own compressed before use, maintaining the down’s loft and warmth.

The Ascent Pro has a ¾ length main zip with a down-filled internal baffle and 3D shaped neck baffle, both designed to limit any heat escaping. There’s a zipped pocket inside, ideal for stashing your headlamp within easy reach, and with its angled foot box, you can be sure of a comfy position to sleep in. Exploring with a partner or want extra space? Pick up a left and a right-zipped bag and you can zip them together.
