Jesper Voxnaes designed the Pilar® in his Logstrup, Denmark shop, and named it after Ernest Hemingway’s beloved boat—the 38-foot long vessel that he used for renegade surveillance of German U-boats during WWII in Caribbean waters. The world-famous author was also a WWI combat vet, big-game hunter, sailor, and fisherman, and certainly would have selected an everyday knife companion like the Pilar® for his daily endeavors.

The 2.4” flat grind blade features a satin finish and the fine, but strong tip is useful for more detailed tasks. It’s deployed from its stainless steel handle with a thumb slot opening mechanism and is secured with a frame lock for your safety.

This Solingen original was first produced in the knife and blade forge "Mercator" Indiawerk Heinrich Kaufmann & Söhne. Even though it was not designed as an army knife, the army of Kaiser Wilhelm quickly learned to appreciate the qualities of the Mercator. The name "Kaiser Wilhelm Messer" originates from this time. As it is almost indestructible, the Mercator knife was passed on from generation to generation in the past. This is also how it made the leap into the present day.

Since 1995 this robust pocket knife has been produced by OTTER-Messer in Solingen. Its shape has remained the same until today, as well as its qualities with which it distinguishes itself in everyday life: reliability, robustness and handiness. Looking for a sheath for your CRKT Berserker axe? Here’s a proper leather one. A bare axe is like a knife without a sheath. Easily blunted and cuts wrong stuff at the wrong time. Get one of these and protect your axe from the hostile environment and the peaceful environment from your hostile axe.

This is a thick and sturdy vegetable-tanned full-grain leather as it should be. The traditional tanning method produces durable stuff and it is more environmentally friendly than nowadays more common chrome tanning. Leather is properly oiled to prevent it from becoming hard and brittle. The seams are lock-stitched with strong and thick Nylon thread. Made in Oregon, USA.

This sheath is only meant for protecting the blade of the CRKT Berserker axe. Because it is designed to caress the unique figure of that particular axe head, it most likely loathes your other axes. If you try to force it on one of those modern plastic thingies, it will cut its belly open in shame and possibly tries to take your fingers with it. However, it will slide smoothly on Berserker and attaches securely with a snap fastener.
